In Lidköping on Lake Vänern's southern shore, you will find the internationally renowned jewelry artist Theresia Hvorslev, her daughter Tabita and their studio and workshop, Silverknappen. At Silverknappen, Theresia, Tabita and their employees sell and manufacture their unique handmade jewelry in their own workshop since the beginning in 1975. The majority of this jewelry is sold in our online boutique, but in the atelier you can exclusively take part in all collections. Legend has it that Karl XII's hearse passed through Lidköping on its way to Stockholm. According to legend, the remains of the heroic king were then allowed to rest under the vault of the Silver Button, on the Epiphany in 1719. It is said that the Swedish king was shot with a uniform button at Fredrikstens Fortress in Norway, which inspired the name Silver Button. You will find the studio and shop on Mellbygatan in a renovated 17th-century building – the oldest building in Lidköping. Whitewashed vaults and black iron doors create a historic atmosphere and a unique setting for Theresia and Tabita's beautiful jewelry. At Silverknappen, there is a solid customer index in which we record which jewelery the customer has, their size and any wishes. A service that is very much appreciated, not least for gift buyers who want to surprise. Across the street from the Silver Button is our workshop where the goldsmiths make all the jewelry by hand.
